Guiding Light Doula Services
Birth & Postpartum Doula Support
What is a Doula?
A doula is a dedicated birth professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
I do not replace your medical team—I work alongside them to ensure you feel informed, supported, and confident in your care. My role is to help you understand your options, communicate your needs clearly, and advocate for yourself with strength and clarity.
This is intentional, patient-centered support that honors your body, your voice, and your full experience at every stage of the journey.
How I Support You
You are not meant to go through birth alone—in body or spirit. I support you in ways that are both practical and steady:
Helping you understand your options and advocate for yourself
Creating a clear, informed birth plan
Providing physical comfort and grounded support during labor
Holding space for your emotions, fears, and decision-making
Supporting your transition into postpartum with care for your body and recovery
Why Work with Me
Birth has always been a sacred event.
Long before hospitals and policies, women were supported by other women — midwives, birthworkers, and spiritual keepers of the womb. I carry that lineage forward today, not as a trend, but as a calling.
As your doula, I walk beside you through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, offering practical, evidence-based care grounded in ancestral wisdom and informed by modern knowledge. I help you understand what’s happening in your body as labor unfolds, speak up for your needs, and stay supported with steady, hands-on care throughout your birth.
This is care that sees you fully—body, mind, and spirit.
Preparation Matters
The way you prepare directly impacts how you experience birth and postpartum.
A Guide for the Journey Through Birth and Beyond equips you with the essential knowledge—what to expect, how to advocate for yourself, and how to support your body before and after birth.
This ensures our time together is not spent covering basics, but focused on real-time support, grounded guidance, and confident decision-making when it matters most.

After Birth: The Mother’s Care Begins
Postpartum Support
Support does not end once the baby is born.
I offer postpartum care centered on the mother—her recovery, her body, and her transition after birth. Through structured, in-home support, grounding care, and steady guidance, you are supported without feeling overwhelmed.
This is intentional, slower care. Space for you to rest, recover, and be cared for as you heal.
The Truth About Postpartum
The postpartum period is one of the most demanding transitions a woman will experience—yet it is often overlooked.
Your body is healing. Your emotions are shifting. You are learning to care for a new life while still needing care yourself.
This work brings the focus back to you.
My postpartum support may include:
Support with rest, recovery, and slowing the body down after birth, including guided breathwork and grounding practices
Womb-centered care, including womb massage and traditional practices such as belly binding for healing and integration
Emotional support and steady presence as you adjust to this new phase
Guidance through physical and hormonal changes in early postpartum
Light, non-medical newborn support so you are not carrying everything alone
Space for you to receive care—not just give it
This is not rushed care. You are supported as you move through it.
Support may also include healing sessions, herbal care, and placenta encapsulation services, based on your needs.
